Zen in the Art of Bubbles

How can a sphere, filled with air and made out of soap and water bring so much delight to a child? To an adult there are many connotations of a bubble, most of them negative.

You can live in a bubble and be sheltered and restricted from experiencing the complexities and wonderments of life. You can be outside of the bubble, either a non-conformist or someone just plain out of the loop. Your bubble can burst, leading to disappointment.

But to a kid a bubble, something magical. Creating something amazing out of something simple. You can learn a lot from the Art of Bubble Blowing. Blow too fast and recklessly, you either get nothing or tiny bubbles that pop almost instantly. But, if you blow slowly and with care, you create a bubble that lasts.

The most important lesson to be learned from bubbles is that it is one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to entertain toddlers.
